This ballet dancing bat, is part of my series of dancing chimeras and mermaids.
I chose the bat to turn into a dancer because of the way bats move - swooping and gliding so I imagined how graceful they would be if they were ballet dancers. This print reminds me of happy occasions bat watching in the local park, next to the lake.
My chimera series grew out of my love for stories about and images of mermaids and selkies and other fantastic creatures.
